We're excited to announce that you can now trial using voice notes when outreaching to new doctors on Messly.

Voice notes are a better way of communicating

We all use voice notes with our friends and colleagues. It's become a personalised and time-saving tool to help you say what you want as quickly as possible.

It saves time:

We know writing individual messages to doctors can be time-consuming and doesn't always allow you put your best foot forward. Instead you can now choose to send a voice note and save time writing out long messages.

You can be more engaging and personalised:

A voice note allows you to pitch your services and show off your expertise in a much more engaging way. You're able to be much more personalised with your approach and really let your engaging personality shine through.

You'll achieve better response rates:

We expect doctors on Messly will respond much more positively to voice note messages. We'll also be promoting voice notes to the top of doctor's Inboxes and emails so they won't miss your messages.

We've made adding a voice notes simple

The voice note feature is available when outreaching to new doctors on Messly.

On the messaging page, you'll see a prompt to add a voice note to your message at the bottom of the page.

When you click through to the popup, you'll be prompted to record a voice note.

We know many of you may have issues recording audio on your computer so you can use this feature either on your computer or your phone. Here's how it works:

Add a voice note from your computer:

This is the simplest way to record a message. It requires that you have a fully-functioning microphone and audio enabled on your computer.

1. Tap the record button to record your voice note. If you're doing this for the first time you'll need to grant access to the app to use your microphone.

2. Tap the record button again to finish your voice note.

3. You'll be able to listen to a preview of the voice note before you add it.

4. If you're happy with the voice note click 'Add' to attach the voice note to the message.

5. If you would like to re-record the voice note, just tap the record button and your voice note will be overwritten.

Add a voice note from your phone:

If you do not have access to a microphone on your computer, you can record a voice note from your phone and attach it to your message. We've streamlined this feature so you can add a voice note from your phone whilst messaging on your computer.

  1. Scan the QR code using the camera on your phone to go to the unique link to record a voice note for the doctor.

  2. Tap the record button on your phone to start recording your message. You will have to grant permission for the app to use your microphone.

  3. Once the message is recorded, you'll be given the option to preview the voice note before uploading it.

  4. If you're happy with the voice note, click 'Upload' to upload the voice note to Messly.

  5. Return to the messaging page for the doctor and open the voice note popup.

  6. You will see that a voice note upload will have been detected.

  7. Preview the voice note to confirm it is correct.

  8. Click + Add to attachment the message to your computer.

We'd love to get your feedback

The voice note feature is currently in beta. We will be reaching out to get your feedback and sharing tips on how to record great voice notes over the coming weeks. If you discover any bugs using this feature, please email tara@messly.co.uk
