Getting a doctor's permission to contact their referees is a crucial step in the medical referencing process. We've now streamlined the process of requesting permission from Messly doctors.

Here’s how it works:

When doctors share their documents through Messly they are asked whether your agency can contact their referees straight away. Some doctors grant this permission upfront, while others prefer to seek their referees' permission before authorising contact.

You will notice a new status on the Document Portal showing the permission status for each doctor. If a doctor has not yet granted permission for the recruiter to contact their referees, an alert will be visible in red.

Requesting Permission

Recruiters and compliance teams can now directly request permission to contact a referee through Messly. Clicking on 'Request' for a particular reference triggers a new request feature if the doctor has not provided permission to contact their referees, which sends an alert to the doctor seeking their approval.

Once the doctor has granted permission, you will be notified by email and will be able to make the reference requests. You will see the status change on your Documents dashboard:

Auto-Request: Don't wait to request references

When asking for permission, you'll be given the option to use our new 'Auto-Request' feature. When enabled, this feature automatically sends a reference request to the referees as soon as a doctor grants permission, eliminating the need for manually requesting the references. This functionality not only saves time but also ensures a smoother and faster reference gathering process.

We hope these updates will accelerate the process of gathering references and provide recruiters and compliance teams with the needed information and permissions in a more timely and efficient manner.
